Tiger panic grips residents of Kendua

NETRAKONA, Apr 7 (UNB) : Tiger panic gripped the residents of several villages in Kendua Upazila here following attack by the animal.
Residents of Rajnagar, Boaibari, Titua, Charamtala, Haripur Puranbari and other adjacent villages shut down doors and windows of their houses before evening apparently in a bid to save themselves from the attack of the tiger.
The villagers together are guarding their areas for the last four days, but their combined initiatives failed to resist the attack.
Recently, one cow of Lehaj Uddin, one goat of Abul Hossain, wife of Hafiz Uddin Rajnagar village fell victim to tiger attack.
Some people are offering 'nafal' prayers or keeping fast while some others sought cooperation from local administration for protecting themselves from tiger attack.
About two months back, police caught a tiger from a deep jungle of Belati village in the upazila and later handed it over to forest department while another tiger was killed by villagers.
