Bangladesh were 114 for 3 after 20 overs, chasing 290 for victory on Thursday in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (21) and Shakib Al Hasan (5) were out in the middle for Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Mominul Haque (15) edged Sachithra Senanayake for a catch to the keeper Kumara Sangakkara. Anamul Haque (42) soon followed when he was trapped leg before by Thisara Perera in the next over leaving the Tigers in discomfort. Earlier, Sri Lanka set a gigantic target of 290 runs for Bangladesh with Kumar Sangakkara's dazzling ton and a slog performance by Angelo Matthews in the last few overs. Sangakkara’s 17th ODI century, fourth against Bangladesh, came off 102 balls. Tigers will have to win this match to keep the series alive. The last time Bangladesh lost an ODI series at home was against Pakistan in December, 2011, according to bdnews24.com.
