FE Online Report | Thursday, 30 July 2015

Bangladesh’s opening batsman Tamim Iqbal became South Africa’s bowler DW Steyn’s 400th scalp in Test cricket on Thursday. Bangladesh were 18 for one wickets in 7 overs against the visitors in their second and final Test at Mirpur in Dhaka.
Brief scores: Bangladesh 18/1 (7.2 ov) v South Africa at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat. Tamim Iqbal c Hashim Amla b Steyn 6 (15b 1x4 0x6) SR: 40.00.
In the morning, Bangladesh openers have started their innings against South Africa. Captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and elected to bat first in the match that started at 9:30am local time. Bangladesh have shored up their batting, with Nasir Hossain replacing Taijul Islam.
South Africa have a change behind the sticks, with Dane Vilas making his debut, replacing Quinton de Kock. New wicketkeeper Vilas was called into action immediately in his debut Test after Mushfiqur Rahim decided Bangladesh would bat on what he said was a "pretty dry" pitch at Mirpur. The Bangladesh captain wanted to put runs on the board in the hope his spinners would be able to take advantage of conditions later on provided the rain, which remained in the air but off the park, stayed away. Bangladesh added an extra offspinner, allrounder Nasir Hossain, in place of left-arm spinner Taijul Islam but otherwise named an unchanged XI. Liton Das would keep wicket again to free up Mushfiqur to lead the side and concentrate on his batting.
