Tigers beat Lanka

Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by three wickets in the ICC World Cup clash at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Monday.
Skipper Shakib Al Hasan (82) and Najmul Shanto (90) helped Bangladesh to win the match.
Earlier UNB adds, Charith Asalanka's century propelled Sri Lanka to a formidable total of 279 in 50 overs, losing all their wickets in the ICC World Cup clash against Bangladesh in Delhi.
After winning the toss, Bangladesh made a stunning start by taking the first wicket in the opening over, bowled by Shoriful Islam. Mushfiqur Rahim pulled off
a stunning catch off the last ball as Kusal Perera's
edge went to first slip. Mushfiqur leaped to his left for a one-handed catch.
Sri Lanka lost two more wickets before reaching the 100-run mark. Angelo Mathews came in at number six, but he took more than two minutes to get ready before facing the first ball, resulting in a "Timed Out" dismissal.
This marked the first instance in international cricket history when a batter was "Timed Out" for not being prepared to face the first ball within two minutes of arriving at the crease.
Despite this setback, Asalanka maintained his focus and notched a century, which played a pivotal role in Sri Lanka's total of close to 300. Asalanka scored 108 off 105 balls, including six fours and five sixes.
For Bangladesh, Tanzim Hasan Sakib took three wickets, conceding 80 runs in his World Cup debut. Mustafizur Rahman was rested to make way for the right-arm pacer. Shoriful Islam and Shakib each claimed two wickets.
Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have played seven matches in the World Cup, with Bangladesh securing one win and Sri Lanka securing two.
