Tigers face Northern Knights in 2nd warm-up match today
Tuesday, 18 December 2007
After losing the first warm-up match by seven wickets, the visiting Bangladesh national cricket team again face Northern Knights today (Tuesday) in the second warm-up match at Seddon Park in New Zealand without medium pacer Syed Rasel and batter Tushar Imran, reports UNB.
The match will start at 12:00noon Hamilton time (5:00 am BST).
The Bangladesh team has been forced to make changes for the second warm-up due to injuries to Rasel and Tushar.
Rasel, who has a dislocated left collar bone from the first warm-up match against the Knights Sunday, has already been examined by an orthopaedic surgeon in Hamilton and will undergo further investigation and treatment before a final assessment of his injury is made.
The Bangladesh team management has called up uncapped Barisal Division pace man Sajidul Islam to replace Rasel in the squad.
Sajidul, who has been the leading wicket-taker in the domestic first class competition this season, will fly for New Zealand at the first available flight.
Batsman Tushar Imran will also sit out of the warm-up today with a sore left-shoulder but is expected to be fit ahead of the Twenty20 match against New Zealand on December 23.
The Tigers will field again 12 players in today's (Tuesday's) game and might also rest pace spearhead Mashrafee Bin Mortaza.
