Tigers face Zimbabwe in 1st ODI today

CHITTAGONG, Nov 20 (BSS): Motivated Bangladesh embarked in a new mission as they take on visiting Zimbabwe in the first One Day International (ODI) of the Bashundhara Cement five-match ODI series scheduled to be held today (Friday) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
State-owned Bangladesh Television telecast the day/night match live that kicks off at 13.30 pm.
Bangladesh already whitewashed Zimbabwe in the recently concluded three-match Test series ending their win drought and the host side once again eyeing to repeat as well in the ODI series over Zimbabwe.
The key batsmen of the Tigers already have proven their worth showing good form in the Test series. Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan kept his impressive performance and named the player of the tournament while Tamim Iqbal also got back his form scoring two match-winning hundred against Zimbabwe in Khulna and Chittagong.
Opener Imrul Kayes and promising batsmen Mominul Haque were also shine with bat along with the bowlers.
To strengthen the bowling side pacer Shafiul Islam was added in the first two ODIs.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe need a good start in the ODI series against Bangladesh to salvage their lost pride. The batsmen and bowlers of the visiting side completely failed to show their best in the Test series and in the warm-up match that at least could help them to boost up their performance in the ODI series. The second ODI between the two sides will be held on November 23 at the same venue.
After the 2nd ODI the two teams will travel to Dhaka to play the remaining three ODI matches to be held on November 26, 28 and December 1, all at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. All the matches will be held under the flood light.
