Bangladesh national cricket team leave Nairobi for Johannesburg this (Thursday) morning to participate in the first-ever Twenty20 World Championship beginning on September 11, reports UNB.
After playing the Twenty20 Quadrangular, involving Pakistan, Uganda and hosts Kenya, the Bangladesh side will also play two practice matches against Scotland before playing the Championship.
Bangladesh will face the Scottish side in the first Twenty20 practice match on September 8 and the second on September 9, both at the Centurion Park.
Placed in Group A of the ensuing meet, the Bengal Tigers will play their first match against West Indies on September 13 and meet hosts South Africa on September 15.
In the recently concluded four-nation tournament, Bangladesh outplayed Kenya by five wickets in their inaugural match but then conceded defeat to Pakistan by 30 runs in the second match.
Then they earned a 21-run victory over another African nation, Uganda, in their third and last match.
