Tigers shinning again in the first Test

The Bangladesh national cricket team played superbly against the visiting South Africans although the match ended in a draw due to rain interruption. Rain washed out two full days' play. The result could have gone either way had there been no interruptions. Rain actually played the role of a spoilsport. The Tigers also had a fair chance of winning the Test match. They played very competitively. The performance of the Tigers made us proud. The Tigers can draw some positive conclusions from this drawn match and I am sure the spirited performance of the hosts must have surprised the tourists as well.
Consistency of performance from the Tigers is essential if we want to be a power to be reckoned with in the cricketing world. Man of the Match Mustafizur Rahman becomes the first man in the history of cricket to be adjudged Man of the Match in both his debut Test match and in one-day international at the same time. It is undoubtedly a fabulous achievement. We all feel proud of him and hope that he will have an illustrious career ahead of him. Congratulations for the Tigers and best of luck for them in the second and final Test match!
