Tigers suffer innings defeat in first Test

Monday, 4 March 2019

The Tigers were defeated in the first Test against New Zealand by an innings and 52 runs despite a century by Tamim, Soumya and Mahmudullah. Tamim played two sparkling innings of 126 and 74. Soumya scored 149 and Mahmudallah scored 146. But Bangladeshi bowling was toothless which helped New Zealand to score massive 715 runs. Thanks to Bangladeshi batsmen, at least the Test reached its fifth day. Soumya batted like a one-day match and he took only 94 balls to reach his hundred. I think Bangladeshi bowlers need to gain more confidence before they go for the second Test. In the first Test Bangladeshi bowling looked flat and lifeless.
Bangladesh will play two more Tests with New Zeland and they still have time to bounce back.
