Tigers to chase 317

Wednesday, 24 June 2015

Fifties from Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni set India up for their best batting performance of the ODI series and left Bangladesh needing to pull off their second-highest successful chase to wrap up a 3-0 whitewash.
Dhawan stroked a 73-ball 75 and Dhoni, batting at No. 4 for the second match running, made a 77-ball 69 that saw India through the middle overs.
Together, they laid the platform for the lower middle order, led by Suresh Raina, to smash 50 off the last five overs, espncricinfo.com said.
On a slow, dry Mirpur surface, Mustafizur Rahman and the spinners - notably Shakib Al Hasan - ensured India's total wouldn't grow too far beyond reach.
Mustafizur used his cutter intelligently, from over and around the wicket, and dismissed Rohit Sharma and Raina to finish the series with 13 wickets, the most by any bowler in a three-match ODI series.
His figures of 2 for 57 were a little misleading, since all three fours he conceded in his last two overs came via miscues and edges.
