Tigers whitewash Zimbabwe

Monday, 1 December 2014

Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by five wickets in the fifth and last one-day international (ODI) in Dhaka’s Mirpur on Monday evening. Zimbabwe had set Bangladesh a winning target of 129 in the afternoon at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. At one stage, Bangladesh were 94 for five in 19 overs. But the Tigers turned around and scored the runs required to hand the visitors a whitewash. Finally the home side ended the final limited-overs match scoring 130, losing five wickets with 153 balls remaining. Earlier, left-arm orthodox spinner Taijul Islam registered the first-ever hatrick-on-debut as the visitors' batting collapsed and folded up at 128. With today's victory, the Tigers whitewashed the Africans. Last month, they swept the 3-match Test series against Zimbabwe 3-0, according to a news agency.
