Earlier Mohammad Nabi scored an unbeaten half-century to guide Afghanistan to 154-7 in the first Twenty20 international of the two-match series against Bangladesh in Sylhet on Friday.
The visitors were struggling at 52 for four after Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bowl first, before Nabi helped his side recover with an unbeaten 54 off 40 balls, his fiftieth T20I fifty.
The hosts made some early breakthroughs to put Afghanistan under pressure, as Nasum Ahmed and Taskin Ahmed removed openers Hazratullah Zazai for eight and Rahmanullah Gurbaz for 16. Shoriful scalped Ibrahim Zadran for eight before Shakib joined the act by dismissing Karim Janat for three.
