Tight measures planned for rly security ahead of Eid

Stringent security measures will be taken in the major railway stations across the country ahead of the Eid- ul-Fitr to avoid passenger harassment and sabotage. ‘Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), police and paramilitary force Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) alongside railway security personnels will be deployed to ensure additional security of the home-goers,’ Railways Minister Md Mujibul Haque said on Thursday. He also said that railway stations and its adjoining areas will be brought under tight security from Saturday with deployment of additional forces to ensure hassle-free journey and safety and security of the passengers. Necessary measures have already been taken to stop black marketing of tickets and activities of agyan (dope) party, he said, adding that the sale of advance tickets will begin from Sunday. Some 14 pairs of special train will ply ahead of the Eid to manage the immense pressure of additional passengers, the minister said, according to BSS.
