Wednesday, 23 July 2014

State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan has said additional police have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. He said the decision was taken at a meeting with the chiefs of the law enforcement agencies at his ministry on Wednesday. The leaders of FBCCI and BGMEA also attended the meeting, the minister told reporters. He said law enforcers have been asked to remain alert to ensure peaceful celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr. The Highway Police will be on 24-hour duty so home-bound people can make safe journey, he said. Police, BGB, ambulance and fire service men will be on stand by for any emergency, according to a news agency.
