Timely road repair helped people return home safe and sound: Quader

Wednesday, 30 July 2014

Timely road repairs helped people return home ‘safe and sound’ during the Eid-ul-Fitr, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader has claimed. He said while on a visit to his electoral constituency in Noakhali’s Companyganj on Wednesday that people suffered relatively less this time. ‘It will be an example,’ Quader said, adding team work among the roads and highways division, district and Upazila administrations, RAB and police teams made the feat possible. He said the government was ‘working tirelessly’ to ensure people returned to their workplaces in the same trouble-free way. The minister had earlier set a July 20 deadline to finish the repairs but media reports say large sections of broken roads have been left untouched. But this year, the roads were relatively free of traffic snarls, easing travel problems, according to bdnews24.com.
