Tipu Munshi on four-day remand

A Dhaka court have placed former commerce minister Tipu Munshi on a four-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of Sumon Shikder (31) in the capital's Badda area during the recent anti-discrimination students movement, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider passed the order on Thursday after police produced Munshi before the court with a eight-day remand prayer.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him from the capital's Gulshan area on early August 28.
Shumon Shikder was brutally gunned down in front of Fuji Tower in Badda on July 19. His mother Masuma Begum filed the case against 179 including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
