Titas severs 272 illegal connections

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL) severed 272 domestic gas connections for illegal use in Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayan-ganj and Mymensingh. A special monitoring team of TGTDCL visited 5,532 residences during a 25-day drive ending March 8. It disconnected 272 illegal gas connections on the spot, said a press release. A total of 1473 burners were being illegally used against the approved 272 cookers. The company is taking punitive steps against illegal users according to the Gas Distribution Rules 2004 and the Bangladesh Gas Law 2010.
