The council committee on government purchase Monday approved Tk 1.03 billion as repair cost of the Ghorashal Urea Fertiliser Factory, damaged by an explosion several months ago.
Production in the fertiliser factory is being hampered since the accident took place.
A Malaysian company won the contract to repair the damage to the fertiliser factory following a competitive bidding.
On Monday's meeting the purchase committee also approved procurement of 43,000 tonnes of non-aromatic rice by the government at a cost of Tk 1.15 billion.
The purchasing price of per kg rice has been fixed at between Tk 25.49 and Tk 27.65.
