Tk 10.80b GCC budget announced

GAZIPUR, Aug 21: A total of Tk 10.80 billion budget for Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) was announced at Nagar Bhaban of the city for the 2014-15 fiscal year Monday.
Mayor of GCC Prof MA Mannan announced the budget at a press conference.
Mayor Professor MA Mannan said, "We have emphasised on reducing poverty from the society.  Moreover special allocations were kept for the education and culture, health care and drainage system, road and culvert and overpass building.
The GCC will spend Tk 1,0687,497,596 as revenue expenditure and Tk 114,713,895 as surplus.  
The budget shows Tk 3.09 billion as government grants and Tk 2.5 billion from foreign cooperation project.
Presided by Md Sobder Hasan Chief executive officer of city corporation Sultan Mahmud, sectary Aminul Islam, chief wastage management officer Kabir Al Asad, Chief asset officer Md Jashim Uddin and other officials and councillor were present on the occasion.
