Tk 1.0b block allocation for culture

Finance Minister AMA Muhith in his budget speech on Thursday proposed a block allocation of Tk 1.0 billion for the fiscal 2014-15 for the development of country’s culture. “In order to infuse dynamism into the development activities in our cultural front, I propose a block allocation of Tk 1.0 billion in the budget for the next fiscal ,” he said while placing the national budget for fiscal 2014-15 in the House. Muhith also said, “We’ve a plan to establish cultural centres in some selected foreign cities to introduce our cultural heritage, art and craft and literature,” according to a news agency.
