Tk 1.19 billion budget for JU

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, June 27 (BSS): The authority of Jahangirnagar University (JU) placed Tk 1.19 billion (119.00 crore) budget for the fiscal year 2015-2016 on Saturday.
Treasurer of the university Professor Dr Abul Khair placed the budget at the annual senate meeting held at the senate hall with Vice Chancellor of JU Professor Dr Farzana Islam in chair.
The treasurer also presented a Taka 1.14 billion (114.65 crore) revised budget for the current fiscal year 2014-2015.
In the upcoming fiscal year Tk 1.06 billion (106.50 crore) will come from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Tk 125 million (12.50 crore) from university's own sources.
The budget will have a deficit of about Taka 133.1 million (13.31 crore), the treasurer told the senate.
JU VC in her speech mentioned a plan for the upcoming fiscal year.
The authorities are going to extend the Bangamata Fazilatunnessa Muzib Hall, Social Science faculty, Arts faculty, Chemistry, Computer Science and Engineering building, she added.
