Tk 19.2m IBBL donation for four Pilkhana Army officers' families

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) will give financial support to the families of four Army officers killed in the Pilkhana carnage, amounting to Tk 40,000 per month totalling Tk 19.2 million (1.92 crore) for the next ten years.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the cheque for Tk 1.92 million for first year to the four Army officers' families at the International Conference Centre in the city Wednesday, said a press release.
IBBL board of directors Chairman Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher and its Managing Director M Fariduddin Ahmad were present on the occasion.
Also present on the occasion were Minister for Finance and Planning Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, State Minister for the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs ABM Tazul Islam, chiefs of the three services, Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddiqui, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad and Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) President Nazrul Islam Majumder.
Earlier, the IBBL had given a cheque for Tk 2.5 million for the relief fund of the Prime Minister to help the deceased Army officers' families.
Moreover, the bank will also provide jobs to the members, and scholarships, to the students of the families of the deceased Army officers.
