Tk 1m valuables looted in Tungipara

Robbers looted gold ornaments, cash and valuable items worth Tk 1 million from a house at Patgati village in Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj district on Wednesday. Police said a gang of 7-8 armed robbers stormed the house of Rafiqul Alam Nixson at about 3:30am breaking grill and door. Later, the bandits took the family members hostage at gunpoint and looted eight tolas of gold ornaments, Tk 150,000 in cash, five mobile phone sets and other valuables from the house and decamped with booty. Habibullah Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Tungipara Police Station, confirmed the incident. A case was filed, according to UNB.
