Tk 201.8m allocated for ultra-poor in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, June 22 (BSS): Disaster Management and Relief Ministry allocated Tk about 201.8 million (20.18 crore) for ultra poor people under its Employment Generating Programme in the district.
The work of second phase of the programme will be completed this month.
District Relief and Rehabilitation office sources said Tk 181.6 million (18 crore 16 lakh 32 thousand) were allotted as wages for the laborers and Tk 20.01 million (2 crore 1 lakh 81 thousand) were allotted as non-wages cost.
A total of 22,551 labourers -- 10,749 female and 11,802 male have been working under the programme in the district.
A laborer will get Tk 200 per day as wage in the 40 days programme, the sources said.
Under the programme 380 projects, of which development of 359 roads and earth filling of 21 low lands, are being implemented in the district.
