Tk 2.0b for construction of eight bridges in Sunamganj

SYLHET, Feb 04: With a target to strengthening rural road link network in remote bordering areas of Sunamganj, a total of eight bridges would be built at a cost of Tk 2.0 billion by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), official sources informed.
The approved bridges include 200 metre long bridge on Someswari river on Sunamganj-Moheshkhola road, 300 metre long bridge on Ubdakhali river near Maddhyanagar upazila, 300 metre long bridge on Buraiya river on Joysri-Golakpur road near Joysri bazaar of Jamalganj upazila, 300 metre long bridge on Boulai river on Golakpur-Sachnabazar road of Jamalganj, 308 metre long bridge on river Kajua (Mora Kushiyara) on Derai-Dhol-Markuli road in Derai upazila, 750 metre long road on Jadukata river on Moheshkhola-Tekerghat-Laurergarh road in Tahirpur upazila, 400 meter long bridge near Damperbazar on Patlai river on Badaghat-Kaukandi-Tekerghat road in the same upazila, and 45 metre long bridge on Chela river near Mangalpur bazaar on Anujani road in Chhatak upazila.
Work on these bridges would begin after bidding by June this year, an official informed.
The project was approved at the ECNEC meeting on January 29.
