Tk 20m gold bars seized at Ctg airport

CHITTAGONG, Nov 13: Customs officials seized 40 gold bars weighing 4.50 kg at Shah Amanat International Airport here on Thursday morning. The market value of the gold is worth around Tk 20 million.  Assistant commissioner Tapon Chakrabarti of the airport customs said a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines 'BG 028' from Abudhabi arrived at the airport around 6:30 am. As a regular duty, a team of customs officials searched the aircraft after its passengers got down and recovered 40 gold bars wrapped up in black scotch tape from under the seat no. 28 in an abandoned condition.    — UNB
