Tk 213.2m unpaid gas bills realised from Sept 6-Oct 8 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM Oct 10: The vigilance and monitoring activities in the port city by the Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) will continue till next month, said officials.
They said a total of 16 vigilance teams are working in different areas of the city and visited 4,981 households and industrial units after they had swung into operation on Sept 06 last.


The teams collected a total of Tk 213.2 million (Tk 21 crore, 32 lakh) unpaid gas bills from Sept 06 to Oct 08. The bills had remained due with the subscribers and clients for a long time.
During this time, the vigilance teams disconnected a total of 592 gas supply lines and restored more than 200 lines.
The teams are tasked with monitoring gas supply and connection system, listening to complaints of the subscribers and clients, spot leakage in supply lines and repairing the same, realising arrear gas bills, disconnecting gas lines for nonpayment of dues and restoring the same.
