Tk 27m gold seized at Ctg airport

CHITTAGONG, Mar 27: Customs officials arrested three people along with 54 gold bars weighing 6.30 kg at Shah Amanat International Airport here Thursday morning. The market value of the seized gold bars is Tk 27 million (2.70 crore). The arrestees are Giasuddin Rana, hailing from Raujan, Ayub and Osman Ghani, of Rangunia upazila of the district. Customs officials recovered 20 gold bars from the possession of Giasuddin searching his body and luggage and 18 bars from Ayub and 16 from Osman around 11:30 am. — UNB
