Tk 300m gold seized at HSIA

Customs intelligence unit seized at least 61 kilogrammes of gold from the toilet of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Monday.
"The gold was recovered from Bangladesh Biman flight BG 048 coming from Dubai which arrived at the airport via Chittagong around 8:30 am," Director General of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Moinul Khan told the FE.
He said a total of 481gold bars, each weighing 10 tolas, 4 gold bars each weighing 1.0 kg and 114 pieces of gold chain were seized which are worth about Tk 300 million.
