Tuesday, 29 September 2009

Two projects involving Tk 330 million have been taken to digitise and modernise Bangladesh National Archives (BNA) for better preservation of more than 1.6 million national documents. After digitisation, officials said, BNA will post all its documents on the website for people's use. The governments of Bangladesh and Japan would finance the projects. The digitisation would be completed by 2021. The second phase of its infrastructural development will be done at a cost of Tk 287.2 million. BNA is preserving documents on country's history, culture, tradition, administration, geography, different aspects of life and nature, books and manuscripts since 1760. — BSS
