Tk 352.5m allotted for 100-day job scheme

Our CorrespondentbrNILPHAMARI, Sept 10 The ministry of food and disaster management has allotted a total of Tk 352.5 million for creating job opportunities for the poor during the peak 'monga' period in Nilphamari district this year. brWhen contacted NDC and incharge of DRRO Habibur Rahman said each of the beneficiaries of 35150 day and farm labourers will get an amount of Taka 10,000 after conclusion of their 100 days' work at Taka 100 daily wage. Sources said the programme will be of two phases. The first 60 days' programme will begin from September 15 next in all the 60 union parishads of six upazilas under the government's special 100-day employment scheme to assist the poor people for overcoming the seasonal employment crisis.brThe labourers will be engaged in reconstruction of village roads, playing fields of educational institutes and reexcavation of canals.brUnder the programme Taka 56.6 million has been allotted for 5660 labourers in Dimla upazila, Taka 52.3 million for 5230 labourers in Domar upazila, Taka 59 million for 5900 labourers in Jaldhaka upazila, Taka 61.5 million for 6150 labourers in Kishoreganj upazila, Taka 76.9 million for 7590 labourers in Sadar upazila and Tk 46.2 million for 4620 labourers in Saidpur upazila.brThe second phase of work for another 40 days will begin in March next year.
