Tk 3.5m cash looted from Ctg bank

CHITTAGONG, Sept 13: Miscreants looted about Taka 35 hundred thousand cash and Taka 20 in prize bonds from UCBL Bank at Raozan upazila of Chittagong last night. A security staff of the bank has been arrested in connection with the incident. Raozan police said, miscreants looted Taka 34.74 million in cash and Tk 20 thousand in prize bond by breaking open the locker of Noapara branch of the UCBL Bank at late night on Saturday. Hundreds of people from the locality gathered at the bank area upon hearing about the cash loot. Branch manager Jafrul Huq filed a case with the Raozan police accusing the night guard of the bank.
