Tk 3m Indian goods seized

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel seized Indian contraband items worth Tk 3.35 million (Tk 3352,000) from Amrakhali village at Benapole in Jessore on Saturday morning. Being tipped off, a BGB patrol team raided Amrakhali border point at Benapole union under Sharsha Upazila in Jessore and recovered the Tk 3.35m smuggled goods, said Lt Col Jahangir Hossain, commanding officer of BGB Battallion-26. Sensing the presence of BGB team, the smugglers managed to flee the scene. The seized goods include Indian clothes, chocolates, cosmetics, liquor and medicine, according to a news agency.
