Tk 4.2 million of pvt co snatched in city

Muggers took away Tk 4.2 million (Tk 42 lakh) from an accountant of a private company Wednesday from the capital's Banani area. Four snatchers in two motorbikes intercepted a private car carrying assistant accounts officer of Mohammadi Group Mustafizur Rahman and three others at Road-11 of the commercial-cum residential area on their way to deposit the amount to the local branch of IFIC Bank about 3:0pm, said victims. The miscreants fired gunshots inside the car. Mustafizur Rahman received bullet injuries. However, a sub-inspector of Gulshan Police Station said quoting the victims that they had withdrawn Tk 0.9 million from Banani branch of Premier Bank just before the mugging incident. The police officer said the looted amount was Tk 0.9 million. The police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the incident.
