Tk 45m water supply project in Muktagachha

Muktagachha municipality has taken a massive programme to supply safe drinking water and ensure sanitation in the next fiscal year (2014-2015). The Public Health Engineering Department (DPHE) will implement the programme at a cost of Tk 45 million with the assistance of Asian Development Bank (ADB). It will be implemented under a project titled ‘water supply through setting up pipe lines and sanitation (2nd phase)’. Executive Engineer of Muktagachha Pourasava Mukhlesur Rahman said they have already prepared the project and other necessary preparations are going on in this regard. The project includes installation of three deep tube-wells, 15 kilometres water supply pipelines and four public toilets. The projects will be completed by 2020, sources said. Muktagachha Mayor Abdul Hye Akandha said that after completion of the project, over 50,000 dwellers of the pourasava will get safe drinking water, according to BSS.
