Tk 47.1m compensation paid to three CSD investors

Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) has paid Tk 47.1 million (4.71 crore) compensation to the three investors -- Cosmos Shoes Int'l Limited, Sheng Tseng Enterprise Co. Limited and La Luna Shoes (BD) Limited -- of Central Silo Depot (CSD) area.
In this connection, a handing over ceremony was held at the BEPZA Executive Office in the city Sunday, said a press release.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Brig General Jamil Ahmed Khan handed over the cheques for the compensation amount to three affected investors of CSD area.
Already the plot and building in Chittagong/Karnaphuli EPZ has been re-allotted in favour of affected investors of CSD area.
The proposed investment of the 100-per cent foreign companies was US$ 44.76 million.
They will produce footwear and leather products for export. After starting their production, they will also create employment opportunities for 6,009 Bangladeshis.
