Tk 4.82b project for development of madrasha edn

Government has taken up a project of Tk 4.8261 billion for the development of madrasha education in the country, reports UNB. Minister for Education Nurul Islam Nahid disclosed this at a views exchange meeting on the development of madrashah education at NAEM conference room organised by Secondary and Higher Education Directorate Saturday. Under the project, 50,000 teachers would be given a four-month training, new academic buildings for 120 Dakhil madrashas would be constructed, infrastructure of 200 dilapidated Ibtedai madrashas would be renovated and 27,000 students would be provided stipend annually. The meeting was attended, among others, by Director General of Secondary and Higher Education Directorate Prof Noman-ur-Rashid. Focusing on the development of madrasha and Islamic education during the tenure of Sheikh Hasina's government, Nahid said no government in the past had worked sincerely for the development of madrashas.
