Tk 4.8m Indian goods seized at Benapole

BENAPOLE, Nov 21 (UNB): Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian goods worth Tk 4.8 million at Amrakhali border point here early Friday.
Acting on secret information, a team of BGB-26 conducted a drive in the area and recovered the Indian contrabands worth Tk 4.8 million in an abandoned condition while they were being smuggled into the country through Amrakhali check post early in this morning, said Deputy Commander of BGB-26 Mohammad Liakat Ali.
The seized items including saris, three-pieces, bronze statues, readymade garments, medicine, key rings, mobile phone sets, cosmetics, Phensidyl syrup, tealeaves, electronic tools, hardware equipment, foods and cumin seeds were deposited to Benapole Customs House.
