Tk 55m Japanese DRGA for BSMRAU improvement

Bangladesh will receive Tk 55 million (5.5 crore) from Japan for the project titled The Improvement of Academic and Research Capacity of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU).brThe Government of Japan (GoJ) approved the Debt Relief Grant Assistance (DRGA) under the Japanese Counterpart Fund recently, a Japan Embassy press release said Sunday, reports UNB.brThe objective of the project is to (improve) enhancement of Agricultural research in BSMRAU by using the provided necessary modern equipment.brSince the GoJ has financed to extend the BSMRAU and provide required equipment for this institution in 1981, the BSMRAU has carried out numerous potential research work for the rapid development of the country's crop sector and developed efficient manpower in agricultural disciplines.brTherefore, this project will be more helpful for expansion of agricultural education and research to improve and strengthen the administrative and academic management of agricultural sector of the country.brJapanese ambassador in Bangladesh Masayuki Inoue expressed his aspirations that Japan's assistance would greatly contribute to the improvement of agriculture sector in Bangladesh.
