Tk 5.9m snatched from Bkash officials

Muggers snatched Tk 5.9 million from two officials of Bkash in Barisal city on Monday afternoon. Local people managed to capture one of the gangsters after a long chase. Locals said Manir and Ibrahim, two officials of Bikash, mobile banking system of BRAC Bank, a private commercial bank, drew the cash from local IFIC Bank branch and were going to local Bikash agents for distributing the cash. On the way, a gang of 6-7 muggers arrived in a private car and swooped on Manir and Ibrahim at Hospital Road and took away the money injuring them in broad day light. Locals chased the car and caught, Shahidul Islam, the driver of the car the muggers were using in the incident. However other gangsters managed to escape. Manir and Ibrahim, injured in the incident, were admitted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH), according to a news agency.
