Tk 600m allocated for post-Sidr house building

In a second installment of government allocation of money for building houses for the cyclone-affected people, a total of Tk 600 million (60 crore) has been sanctioned for Bagerhat and Barguna districts. An official announcement Saturday said the money, sanctioned from the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund, "will be spent on construction and repair of houses of the affected people as per the house-building policy of the Food and Disaster Management Ministry." Earlier, the government had allocated another amount of Tk 600 million for the cyclone-battered districts. Of the fresh house-building grants, Bagerhat and Barguna got Tk 300 million each.— UNB
