Friday, 22 June 2007

The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will provide Tk 600 million (60 crore) as financial assistance to the children of four countries, who were injured in accidents while being used as camel jockeys in that country. The countries are Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sudan and Mauritania. The Bangladeshi children, who had returned home since 1993, would get financial assistance equivalent to US dollar 1,000 to 5,000 each as compensation, an official handout said. — BSS
