The target of realising land development tax in Brahmanbaria was previously set to Tk 581.04 million in the fiscal.

Meanwhile, another report said, the prices of bricks have increased in the district due to scarcity of coal.
The brick-field owners said, they are compelled to use wood in their kilns, as the price of imported coal is very high, and they cannot buy coal at the legal price.
Presently, no-1 quality brick is being sold at Tk 3,700-3,800 per thousand, no-2 at Tk 3,100-3,200, and no-3 is being sold at Tk 2,900-3,000 in the district.
But last year, no-1 brick was sold at Tk 3,100-3,200 per thousand, no-2 at Tk 2,700-2,800, and no-3 at Tk 2,500-2,600.
About 103 brick-fields, both licensed and unlicensed, are engaged in producing bricks across the district, the sources added.
