Tk 7.7m red sandalwood recovered

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel recovered Tk 7.7 million worth of precious red sandalwood smuggled from India intercepting a bus at Amrakhali under Benapole union in Sharsha Upazila of Jessore on Saturday evening. Being tipped off, a BGB team stopped a Barisal-bound ‘MM Paribahan’ bus and seized 134 kilograms (kg) of red sandalwood worth Tk 7.7m from the vehicle in the evening, Jessore BGB-26 sources said. However, none was arrested in this connection, according to a news agency.
