Tk .90m fake notes recovered

JOYPURHAT: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two members of a note-forgery gang along with Tk 0. 90 million fake currency in Sadar upazila Friday.
The arrested were identified as Shahidul Islam, 26, son of Haji Uddin, and Shajahan Siraj, 24, son of late Hasan Ali of Karnai-Hajipara village in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur.
On secret information, a team of Rab-5, led by its Joypurhat camp commanding officer Major Abdur Rahim, conducted a drive at Puranapoil Bypass intersection on Joypurhat-Hili road around 5:30pm.
The Rab team challenged Shahidul and Siraj when they tried to leave the place hurriedly after getting down from a bus, according to a news agency.
Later, the elite force members recovered  fake notes of Tk 1,000 denomination from their possession.
