Tobacco tax to increase

Finance Minister AMA Muhith has proposed up to four per cent increase in taxes on tobacco and tobacco products in the national budget for 2014-2015 fiscal year. In presenting the budget in parliament on Thursday the finance minister proposed one per cent health development surcharge on imported and local tobacco products, according to a news agency.
