Tofail blasts Khaleda for her movement threat

Friday, 27 June 2014

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed has criticised BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia saying that she has no ability to cause any harm to the government through launching any movement. ‘Whatever capability you (Khaleda) had, you utilised all before the January-5 elections, and now you’ve become exhausted…you only can harm the businessmen,’ he said. Taking part in the general discussion on the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2014-2015, the Commerce Minister called upon the BNP chief not to go into the path of movement and anarchy causing immense harm to the country. Tofail, also the Awami League advisory council member, alleged that BNP had tried to create in Bangladesh such a situation that now prevails in Thailand, but Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina got the January 5 parliamentary election held with her firm determination. In this connection, he alleged that Khaleda had turned down Hasina’s earlier proposal for dialogue and formation of an all-party government, according to a news agency.
