Sunday, 4 February 2018

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Saturday expressed the hope that all political parties would participate in the next national election which will be conducted by the Election Commission (EC) as per the Constitution, reports BSS.
He said staying away from the next parliament election will be harmful for any political party because the party which did not join the election earlier had been affected.
Tofail said this while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a Syeda Anjuman Ara Girls' School founded by Anjuman Ara-Mujib Foundation at Jagannath Dighi under Chauddagram upazila in Comilla.
The commerce minister said the EC will conduct the next election and the present Awami League government will do its routine work during the election period.
The EC successfully conducted the Rangpur City Corporation and Comilla City Corporation elections and it will also be able to conduct the next parliament polls in a peaceful manner, he added.
Tofail said Bangladesh will be a digital-based middle-income country by 2021 and it will complete graduation from LDC in 2024. He urged all to extend cooperation to Awami League for Bangladesh's successful graduation from LDC.
