Tofail leaves for S'pore

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed left Dhaka on Sunday for Singapore to attend a business seminar there, according to a handout issued by the ministry of commerce (MoC).
The seminar styled "To Promote Trade and Commerce between Bangladesh and Singapore" will be held today (Monday).
Issues relating to trade and business will come up for discussion at the seminar aiming to strengthen ties between the two countries.
The commerce minister will present a concept paper on the country's trade and business scenario. Besides, he will meet with leaders of trade bodies and entrepreneurs and focus on the country's investment scenario.
Bangladesh's export of goods to Singapore was US$ 335.12 million in the fiscal year (FY) 2016-2017 while goods equivalent to US$ 2551 million were imported from Singapore during the same period.
The commerce minister is scheduled to return home on February 13.
