Tofail slams Khaleda

Tuesday, 21 July 2015

BHOLA, July 20 (UNB): Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said on Monday people do not accept the words of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia as the country is now in a better position than that at any time in the past.
"She (Khaleda) alleges that Awami League is trying to split her party. But why would Awami League do this? Recent statements of some BNP leaders prove that BNP leaders and workers are dissatisfied with the leadership of the BNP chairperson," he said while exchanging Eid greetings with journalists at Dhania Union Parishad of Bhola Sadar
Upazila on Monday afternoon.
Tofail said the BNP leaders think that their party would not win the next general election in 2019, so they are frustrated.
"Awami League has no concern about a party where there is no practice of democracy, which is governed by the decisions of a mother and her son, and where the party leaders have no role to play," he added.
Some BNP leaders are now frustrated more, the commerce minister said, after Khaleda Zia carried out destruction in the country over 92 days in the name of so called anti-government movement.
"The way they killed innocent people, brought out sabotage and tried to destroy the country's economy…but the country's people resisted all their efforts," Tofail said.
